Industrial Design
After producing the original Stormtroopers led to five great years working for the film industry, Andrew moved on to make his mark as a trail-blazing designer in a range of other industries. Read more below!

The creation of the original Stormtrooper and other characters for the first Star Wars film was the spring board to five great years for Andrew Ainsworth in the world of prop making, until suddenly, as if out of nowhere, somebody invented the computer and conventional prop makers were history. At this point Andrew gave up the film business and pursued his industrial design ambitions elsewhere, in areas as diverse as watersports, bats for baseball, softball and cricket, clothing and sports helmets.
The seeds of Andrew's industrial design career were sown in the years before working as a propmaker. Beginning from Kingston Polytechnic and Ealing School of Art, this period saw Andrew develop the Bullock sports car and his first work with vacuum moulding. See his full pictorial CV below.
After leaving the world of propmaking, Andrew used his design skills to develop products for the watersports market both in the UK and internationally. His career went on to include sports clothing, helmets and sporting bats. Read his full pictorial CV below.
